What is a browser?

To view and edit your page4 website on a computer or tablet, you need a browser. Depending on the operating system, there are different browsers you can use. Almost all browsers are free of charge. Since you are surfing the Internet via a browser, you should always make sure that you are using the latest version. Together with a good antivirus software, you reduce the risk of getting dangerous viruses and malware on your computer.

 

If you know the address of a website, you should type it directly into the address bar of your browser. As soon as you have done this and pressed the return key, the web page is loaded and displayed. By default, browsers are set to display a search engine, usually Google, when opened.
Many users then automatically type the full address of their web page into Google's search box and then click on the link they find. If you have created a new website and the domain has just been registered, this can then lead to the fact that Google does not (yet) know this address and therefore can not find it.

Tip:
You can safely get to your website via the address bar in the browser, provided that the domain is already registered and you have written everything correctly. When the content of your website is ready and you have also entered all data for the search engines (keywords, description, etc.), you should register your new domain with Google yourself. The faster your new page4 site will be found.

 

If possible, you should only use one of the well-known browsers. This way you are on the safe side and always up to date with the latest technology.

We recommend the Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browser. On a Mac, Safari is also a good solution. All of these browsers are fast, modern and receive regular security updates.
