As soon as you leave the content element, the change is automatically saved. The advantage of dialogs is that you are given more options and can focus on editing. If, as other systems sometimes do, you display an "inline dialog" as soon as you click into a piece of content it may seem cool at first. But you quickly realize that there are a lot of limitations. Especially if the content takes a lot of space on the page like a gallery or a form.
Editing via the dialog
To edit content you move the mouse over the corresponding content until the toolbar appears in the upper left corner. When you click on the edit icon, the corresponding dialog opens, where you can now comfortably enter your content.

Cancel editing
If you terminate an editing dialog by pressing Cancel, entered content that is not yet saved will be discarded. Since there is no warning message, you should be careful once you have edited a content. Unsaved content is irrevocably deleted if you leave the edit dialog without saving.
